June has a way of drawing us back indoors.
The kettle whistles more often. Soup simmers slowly on the stove. Lamps switch on before dinner and blankets begin living permanently on the couch again. Small rituals return quietly with the colder weather.
This month at The Hub General Store, we’re leaning gently into the season and the comfort of winter evenings spent at home. Shelves filled with wool socks, gloves, hot water bottles, bread knives for soup nights, candles, tea, puzzles, pantry provisions, and useful objects designed for slower days and softer routines.
As Winter Solstice approaches on Sunday 21 June, the store will also fill with handmade Tea Tree Lantern Kits. A simple paper lantern activity inspired by wabi sabi and the beauty of making something slowly by hand. Not perfectly. Just presently. A gentle excuse to gather around the table, lose track of time, and bring a small glow into the darkest month of the year.
Visit us if you can. The fire will be crackling. And the kettle, as always, will be on.
Warmly,
The Shopkeeper Team
