DELIVERING YOUR ORDERS
Online shopping at The Hub General Store is always open. Orders are packed with care by our shopkeeper team and sent on their way as promptly as possible, with every effort made to ensure they arrive safely and as expected.
SHIPPING WITHIN AUSTRALIA
As of May 2025, we offer a $12 flat-rate standard shipping service across Australia, along with a $20 express shipping option. Bulky or oversized items such as brooms, large planter pots, feather dusters and heavy goods over 5kg are excluded from flat-rate shipping and cannot be sent from the store at this stage.
Express shipping is available to metropolitan city areas only. This service does not extend to rural or far-regional addresses and does not apply to bulky or heavy items, or orders exceeding 5kg. If express shipping is selected and your order does not meet the criteria, it will be sent via standard delivery.
As of 13 January 2026, online orders are dispatched on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays. You will receive a confirmation email with tracking details once your parcel has been sent.
We recommend selecting a delivery address with a safe, discreet place for parcels to be left. Once a parcel has been delivered, responsibility for its safekeeping rests with the recipient.
Delivery timeframes are estimates only and may vary depending on location.
Estimated delivery times are as follows:
Metropolitan Melbourne, Sydney, Brisbane, Adelaide typically take two to five business days.
Regional NSW, VIC, ACT, SA, QLD, WA and NT typically take three to eight business days.
Remote areas of QLD, SA, NT, WA and TAS typically take five to ten business days.
Additional postage fees may apply for remote locations depending on parcel size or weight.
SHIPPING INTERNATIONALLY
All international orders are shipped via Australia Post. Once dispatched, you will receive an email with tracking details.
International delivery times are estimates only and may be affected by customs processing or local postal services.
Estimated delivery times are:
New Zealand four to seven working days.
North America, Western Europe, Asia and the Pacific six to fourteen working days.
All other destinations ten to sixteen working days.
As of 29 August 2025, the United States Government removed the de minimis exemption. All commercial shipments entering the United States may now incur duties, taxes and clearance fees regardless of order value. These charges are set by local authorities and are beyond our control.
International shipping rates are calculated based on destination and parcel weight. All international orders are exempt from Australian GST. Please note that additional taxes, customs duties or clearance fees may be applied by your local customs office.
If an item in your international order is deemed dangerous goods by our courier, such as alcohol, knives or lighters, that item will be refunded. If your order includes multiple items, only the restricted item will be refunded.
Delays may occur if your address is outside a major city or if your parcel is held for customs inspection. We cannot accept responsibility for delays, loss or damage caused by international postal or customs authorities.
DAMAGED PARCELS
Please inspect your parcel before opening. If the outer packaging shows signs of damage, we recommend photographing it before breaking the seal. Should you discover damage to an item, retain all packaging, take clear photographs and contact us as soon as possible so we can assist. hello@thehubgeneralstore.com.au
LOST OR STOLEN PARCELS
Once a parcel has been marked as delivered, responsibility transfers to the recipient. Any claims for lost or stolen parcels must be lodged directly with the delivery provider.
RETURN TO SENDER PARCELS
Parcels returned to us due to incorrect address details, unclaimed deliveries or inaccessible locations will require a new shipping fee to be paid before re-sending. Please ensure your delivery address is correct and reliable at checkout.
SHIPPING AND PICK-UP SELECTION ERRORS
If In-Store Pick Up is selected at checkout but shipping is required, please email us. hello@thehubgeneralstore.com.au A shipping invoice will be issued and your order will be sent once payment is received.
As a small business, we are unable to absorb costs resulting from checkout errors, so we encourage customers to review their details carefully before completing an order.
CLICK AND COLLECT
Click and Collect is available from our store at 36 Cambridge Street, Collingwood. Orders are usually ready within one to two business hours. You will receive an email once your order is ready for collection. Please bring your order confirmation and identification when collecting.
