Borscht & Black Pepper by Pep x Rough Rice is an all purpose seasoning made from Rough Rice’s wild fermented borscht, aged for eight years in a ceramic crock before being freeze dried into a deeply savoury seasoning dust. Pep’s single origin Cambodian black pepper brings warmth, depth, and a slow building heat, while sea salt and cumin seed round everything into something earthy, sharp, and remarkably useful in the kitchen.
It works particularly well scattered generously over soft boiled eggs, labne on toast, grilled fish, cucumber and tomatoes, or buttered potatoes straight from the pot. The kind of seasoning jar that quietly migrates closer and closer to the stove over time.
