Crafted from a single piece of timber, selected by Andrew Lowe for its rich colour and unique figure, each board is truly one of a kind and absolutely special.
Timber has been used for cutting boards for centuries because it’s gentle on knives, doesn’t shed microplastics, and is naturally beautiful. Your board is finished with a food-safe beeswax and citrus oil blend, providing a protective seal.
This finish needs reapplication every 3-6 months, depending on use, to maintain its protection.
Each board is air-dried for 18 months to 2 years and kiln-dried for stability. As a natural material, timber absorbs moisture. While it can get wet, it shouldn’t stay wet for long, as prolonged moisture exposure can lead to cracking. Once cracked, the wood becomes more vulnerable to further damage.
To avoid cupping, store your board upright or on its edge. Timber absorbs moisture unevenly, which can cause warping if left flat.
Each board is meticulously crafted and finished by Andrew Lowe, making it a unique and functional work of art.
