Susan Knight - Cut Between the Space 2017 - #016 - Unframed
Susan Knight is a Melbourne-based artist whose work is inspired by architecture, design and interior spaces. She graduated from RMIT University in 1995 after completing a Bachelor of Fine Arts (Hons) and at that time, her preferred medium was paint.
Over the past decade she has explored a more diverse range of materials including garden flora, mirrored and fluoro laser cut acrylic, manipulated (found) photographic images, candle wax, hair and household detritus.
In Cut Between The Space 2017, Susan has harnessed both the process of cyanotype and digital scanning to examine and abstract everyday items. It is fitting that the printing process used by engineers well into the 20th Century (to copy architectural and mechanical drawings) has been employed to capture and manipulate familiar designs.
