The Things We Keep 44/62 A3
Not specified

$460.00

Part of The Things We Keep, a photographic exhibition presented at The Front Room Gallery for Melbourne Design Week 2026.

Each artwork began with a personal object belonging to a creative, collector, designer, artist, or maker from across Australia. These objects were then handed to photographers, not simply to be documented, but interpreted - transforming private possessions into shared artworks shaped by memory, atmosphere, and emotional response.

Presented as a limited edition of 20, each A3 artwork is printed in Melbourne on fine art cotton rag paper as part of an exclusive companion release available through The Hub General Store. Artwork printing leadtime up to 1 week.

44/62. This is the cut end of the ‘Venetian Aperture’ from Wardle’s ‘Somewhere Other’ exhibition for the 2018 Venice Biennale. Murano glassmaker Leonardo Cimolin, reputed to have the largest lungs on Murano, blew the large vial for the work. It became the final element added to the Australian portals linking Venice to Australia. As visitors moved through timber chambers washed with eucalyptus oil and a mirrored installation by Natasha Johns-Messenger, the journey seemed to carry them far from Venice. At the final turn, the metre-long red glass aperture returned them once again to the Arsenale and the city beyond.
